Thao& Richard

As we see the narrator in story Cathedral is rude, closed minded, arrogant and lack of awareness. He thought that he can “see” better than Robert- a blind man who is coming to visit the narrator and his wife. When they have a conversation about the cathedral on TV, Robert asks the narrator to describe it as much as details for him but language seems to be limitation so he just describes it very vague and Robert helps him to draw it. A little contradict is that Robert- a sightless guy teaches the narrator who can totally see things physically. The irony here that obviously, the narrator can see with his eyes but does not realize that he blocks himself in his own world and just thinks everything in his own way. He lacks a sight into feeling, wondering and the curiosity, opposite to Robert who owns all that. Roberts helps him to see things with feels and connection to imaginary. At the end, he sees Roberts as different perspective.
