SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE FAKE WORLD! 4 FACTS OF SOCIAL MEDIA (YOU WON’T BELIEVE #3!)

1. What do you have to do to be liked?
I have seen that if a girl posts a picture showing more skin and less clothes, she would get more likes. Also, when you show off your body, your curves either real ones or fake ones, you get more likes. You gotta be “hot” to get more followers and likes.

It doesn’t make any sense, nowadays people live for the social media. Making themselves feel they have to change to be accepted in society, not accepting themselves but copying the new boring “beauty”.
2. The real and non-real world.

When I look at images of girls in a magazine or social media, especially Instagram, I know that they are altered electronically to appear perfect, to keep up the beauty pattern. Whether this is true or not, they are ultimately used as a standard of comparison. Even knowing it might be all photoshoot I still feel sad or It’s hard to accept myself because beauty nowadays it’s when you are curvy, or very skinny and tall or even both, big lips, long eyelashes, long straight hair and full make up face. It’s a non-real world because not everyone wants to be or is like that. People began to create a fake self, being someone who, sometimes, they don’t really want to but do for the media.
3. The consequences that social media can cause.
Specially for those who are young and are more easily to fall for the “media-beauty”, there is consequences as stopping eating food because being in a normal weight is bad, being a little bit chubby is ugly, or having cellulite here and there it’s not pleasant. Or letting the make-up industry takes over you and not letting you see the truth beauty.
Depression is another consequence that happens, a lot.

4. Online accounts/pages can be part of the problem.

I see every day, with no exception, on my Instagram feed or the most videos/pictures liked in the week and all are from women that are very curvy, women with a lot of make up on. Posts from people that we wish we could be or pictures of something that we wish we were at and have it.
5. Screw social media and be yourself .

You know what? Who cares if you are not like “ girls from Instagram “ or like “ Kylie Jenner” or whoever ?! All of them don’t show the truth about their life’s, what if they are not happy too? What If they have any health disturb or aren’t happy as seems and you don’t see? The “ perfection “ in social media, especially on instagram, doesn’t show what happens behind the scenes.
If you think you’re different from all these people who shows what’s “ perfection “ for THEM or for most of the people, don’t be sad or judge yourself, being different it’s awesome! Makes you special from everyone else and that’s what matters, being yourself.
