As you can read in the title, here are the top 7 most followed instagram accounts in 2018.
1. @instagram
With 261 million followers, the account owned by Instagram itself is the most followed account. They post about celebrities or nature related pictures. I’m not a hundred percent sure why they have that many followers other than the fact that the pictures are kind of aesthetically pleasing.
2. @cristiano
Cristiano Ronaldo, the well-known soccer player has 145 million followers in total. He often shows his soccer highlights as well as pictures of him and his family in different places all around the world. Though most of his followers could be die hard soccer fans, i’m convinced that at least half of his followers love him because of his looks. He’s a fit and handsome athlete after all, so it’s not surprising. #DILF
3. @selenagomez
The actress/singer is third on the list with 144 million followers. She was the most followed account on Instagram back in 2017. While she often posts her upcoming projects, her feed is also filled with selfies and quirky pics that you just can’t help but double tap. She used Instagram as a platform to reveal a picture of her and her friend announcing her kidney transplant. It later blew up and became one of the top 15 most liked instagram posts.
4. @arianagrande
Ariana has a total of 133 million followers on Instagram. The singer/actress has been making headlines after she called off her engagement with comedian Pete Davidson then later releasing a song about her exes called “thank u, next”. When she’s not posting behind-the-scenes pics of her concerts and music videos, she shares videos and pictures of her messing around with her friends and family.
5. @kimkardashian
Kim Kardashian has 120 million followers, making her number 5 on the list. The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star is undeniably one of the most talked about celebrities of 2018. When she’s not posting half naked pics of herself, you can find pics of her makeup collection called KKW Beauty, her OOTDs and most importantly her family. Her sisters are all really close, hence the amount of posts dedicated to each other. She loves posting pictures of her kids, North, Saint and Chicago West.
6. @therock
Dwayne is slightly behind Kim Kardashian with 120 million followers. The Rock’s feed is filled with Dad jokes, motivational content and workout videos. He also shares pictures of his children If you ever feel down, need a laugh or just want to see pictures/videos of Kevin Hart getting roasted, i suggest you follow him.
7. @Beyonce
Queen B is 7th on the list with 119 million followers. She doesn’t post as often as other celebrities, but when she does, she does not disappoint. She mostly shares pictures and videos of her performances and latest photoshoots.
